New TeXtreme® application - Fanatic windsurfing board FreeWave TeXtreme 2010-08-20
Fanatic windsurfing recently released their boards for 2011, and among them the ultra light board FreeWave TeXtreme.
The board is made with TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabric and combines being ultra light with extreme stiffness.

Spread Tow Fabrics (STF) are getting more and more well-known within the composites industry.
Another sign on STF being acknowledged as an ultra light composite reinforcement is that STF has been included in NetComposites "Guide to Composites" under the Reinforcements section.

Conference paper released: The advantages of ultra light woven Spread Tow Fabrics 2010-06-18
Oxeons Product Manager Materials, Fredrik Ohlsson, succesfully presented the paper titled Advantages of Ultra Light Woven Spread Tow Fabrics on the SICOMP conference held in the beginning of June.
The paper written by Fredrik Ohlsson and Nandan Khokar covers the foundations of the Spread Tow technology, illustrates both the theoretical and practical benefits of using Spread Tow Fabrics (STF) and showcases some products that have been succesfully developed with Oxeons Spread Tow Fabric, TeXtreme.
We highly recommend reading the paper to learn more about Spread Tow Fabrics, and how TeXtreme is used to reduce weight, improve mechanical performance, surface finish, impact, etc.

Patrick Kane and TeXtreme clinches the Stanley Cup 2010-06-10
Patrick Kane using a Bauer Vapor X-60 stick on overtime settled the Stanley Cup finals when Chicago Blackhawks won the trophy for the first time since 1961.

TeXtreme victorious at STCC Gothenburg City Race 2010-06-07
Polestar Racing using TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics took a great win when driver Robert Dahlgren won the first heat in Gothenburg City Race in the Swedish Touring Car Championshipon, the 5th of June. Dahlgren also has the lead in the total of the STCC 2010 drivers’ league.

Oxeon to present a paper at SICOMP Conference 2010-05-21
Fredrik Ohlsson, Product Manager Materials, will present a paper titled: Advantages of Ultra Light Woven Spread Tow Fabrics at the 21st annual SICOMP conference 3rd - 4th of June in Piteå, Sweden.
The presentation, held 16:05-16:30pm on Thursday the 3rd, will provide comprehensive information on the Spread Tow Technology and the benefits of using Spread Tow Fabrics in relation to some of the successful applications made with Oxeon`s Spread Tow Fabric, TeXtreme.
SICOMP is a part of Swerea which is a Swedish research organization that focuses on activities related to composite manufacturing including design, calculation and simulation work. More information is available at www.sicomp.se.

Lightweight Racing Kiteboard Produced Using Textreme® 2009-04-03
TeXtreme® has been incorporated recently in lightweight racing kiteboards. The kiteboard is lighter than available kiteboards that incorporate conventional woven carbon reinforcements. This significant weight saving, attributed to TeXtreme®’s structure, offers the kiteboarder high freedom in rapid manoeuvring in this challenging, adventurous and fast sport.
Lightweight HLG Developed Using TeXtreme® 2009-04-03
TeXtreme® has been utilized recently to develop lightweight Hand-Launched Gliders. Incorporating TeXtreme® in the fuselage and wings of the HLG enables significant weight reductions making the HLG lighter than other glider models made using conventional woven carbon reinforcements.
