TeXtreme® and TeXero® is tailormade and available in a wide variety of configurations with regard to areal weights, choice of materials, and so on. Please contact our sales department to discuss what will suit your needs.

TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabric

TeXtreme® carbon fabrics are available in a wide variety of different areal weights (starting from 76 g/m2), fabric widths (300 –1500 mm) constructed from tape widths (20–50 mm) to fully meet specific customer needs. Through cooperation with impregnating companies, TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabrics can be delivered as a thermoset prepreg. TeXtreme® is available, even in low areal weights, as it is produced from the more easily available 12k, 24k or 48k tows. Some examples of TeXtreme®  Spread Tow Fabrics are shown below.

High Strength carbon fabrics:

From 12k – 80 gsm, 160 gsm and 240 gsm
From 24k – 160 gsm and 320 gsm
From Heavy tows – 200 gsm and up

Intermediate modulus carbon fabrics:
From 18k – 76 gsm, 152 gsm
From 24k – 80 gsm, 160 gsm and 240 gsm

High modulus carbon fabrics:
From 12k – 130 gsm

TeXero® Spread Tow Tapes

TeXero® has very good width consistent, structural stability, uniform and straight fiber orientation. TeXero® dry Ud tapes are today produced in widths from 20 to 50 mm and areal weight corresponds with the degree of spreading and the type of carbon fiber chosen. TeXero® is available from 38 gsm.

Carbon UD tapes are available in weights indicated below:
Intermediate modulus carbon > 38 gsm
High strength carbon > 40 gsm
High modulus carbon > 70 gsm
Heavy tow (> 48k) > 100 gsm

TeXtreme® fabric

TeXtreme® – How it works

TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabric is based on Oxeon's Tape Weaving Technology that uses tapes instead of yarn. In any given area more fibers can be packed in tape form than in a yarn. A woven material comprising interlacing fibrous tapes, instead of yarns, displays a substantially reduced number of interstices/openings. This means that a tape woven structure presents less accumulation of matrix at the interstices and hence increased fiber volume fraction.

TeXero® – How it works

TeXero® Spread Tow Tapes are produced with our novel Tow Spreading Technology. By spreading the tow we can produce TeXero® UD tapes down to an areal weight of 38 gsm from 18k tows and 100 gsm from 48k tows.
